Billy: The Early Years of Billy Graham is about, well, the early years of Billy Graham. It's always good to learn about people who made an impact in history. So when I got a chance to watch this film, I was looking forward to it.

The film begins with a scene in the hospital, where Dr. Templeton, one of the early colleagues of Billy Graham, is interviewed about his memories of Billy Graham. After the intro credits, where it goes into the hospital room, I thought the quality would be cheesy, because it seemed like they were just taking random shots of the hospital room. But after a few shots, the idea of this scene was established successfully and turned out that the shot was part of a carefully planned design.

I can't say anything negative about any of the technical aspects of the film. The actor choice was very good. The whole crew responsible for the film from planning stages to final editing, did a very good job.

Telling a story from a perspective of a person who used to work with Billy Graham, but later left the faith, and yet has very good impressions of Billy Graham, makes this a very credible film.

My favorite aspect of the film, is that it was really made in a humorous fashion. When I looked at the cover of a biographical film, I kind of had a pre-conceived notion, that this film would be educational, yet... kind of boring. But this film is just out-loud-funny. It's just a beautiful illustration that you could make a funny movie without using cuss words. People like the makers of this film, should be trusted with more historical films.

You could get a copy of this film on DVD, here.

Hi, I'm Aleksey, and I'm the founder of this site. I really like science, history, movies, and electronic music. I direct and act in short films. I write songs and play a guitar, and sing in a music team. I try to learn as much as I can about science and history. And I sometimes host live events dedicated to Christian film, music, science, and history. I don't claim to be the world's top expert on the things I write about. I just write about things I enjoy writing about. If my scientific theories sound cheesy, please don't criticise me, I don't have all the answers. Nobody does. Even Einstein didn't have all the answers. If I sound politically incorrect, forgive me. I'm a Jesus freak. I have a BS degree in Civil Engineering. Sometimes I wonder why God didn't send me to study music, or science, or film, or video game design, or history, or business, instead. But as I think about it more, I realize that engineering is that unique field that prepares you for all of those.
